Happy Birthday to Us // Welcome Toby

So one time Jordan and I had birthdays!! Actually that one time was 2-3 months ago... Man, I have really been slaking in the blogging game. But anyway I have finally gotten around to blogging about what we both did for our 21/25 birthdays!  My birthday was in August, and the day started by getting woken up by my sweet husband with the cutest box of donuts I have ever seen. My man knows me really well and knows I would much rather have donuts than cake! 

The rest of the day was spent going to lunch at the Habit, and then shopping at City Creek and then ending with dinner at Alemexo. Seriously it was perfect! Jordan spoiled me! 

Those chocolate shakes tho. Habit has quickly become one of our favorites. 

Then I was surprised by my family who made me the cutest cake and balloons to celebrate!! My sister Ava is the craftiest person I know, and she MADE those balloons. Seriously, she puts me to shame.

I mean, COME ON! Some one wife her. Quick. 

Jordan's birthday was in September and now it was my turn to spoil him! For his birthday we both had school. So I woke up early and made him breakfast! Then when we both got home from school I surprised him with his favorite meal from his childhood. Chicken Blintzes. Man it was delicious. Then we took a scooter ride (a birthday present to both of us from my parents) to a movie!! The real surprises for Jordan tho came before and after his birthday! I surprised him with tickets to see a live star show up at the planetarium in Salt Lake! He was like a kid in a candy store playing with all that space stuff. 

Of course the night wouldn't be complete without another trip to the Habit. 

Which brings us to the biggest surpise of the them all! The weekend before Jordan's birthday I got a text from my parents that said, "Would you kill us if we got this for Jordan?" with the following picture.

I said OF COURSE NOT. We then hatched a plan of how we would surprise Jordan with him. Luckily for us, Jordan had a vocal point show that night and would not be home until late. So I went and got all the things he would need, and then waited at my parents house for Jordan to come over. Below is the video of Jordan seeing him of the first time. 

We named him Sir Tobias Winston Churchill, or Toby for short. He is the absolute cutest dog there has ever been and I might be a little more in love with him than Jordan is. 

He is the laziest dog there has ever been. This is a result of a 10 minute walk around our block.

Surviving Term 1.

Honestly, this term FLEW by. It was liked we started school and then suddenly it was time to submit grades. But I am proud to say that I have successfully survived TERM 1! Only 3 more to go... I owe my success this term largely to 3 great TA's, 1 amazing husband who was willing to help me stay up to write lessons, all the members of my department, the gallons of Dr. Pepper I drank, and last by not least my Erin Condren Planner.  Orgnization was everything, and often times I was planning lessons the night before. So having a great planner that would help me organize the countless meetings and tasks I had to do each week was essential. The Erin Condren planner was the perfect way to keep my life strait!

I am so glad to have that first term under my belt. Now, on to the next one.

I know what you are thinking.... What happened to our good friend Zoë who was a good blogger??  Well I will tell you what happened, I started teaching!! And it is taking up all of my time! I love it so so much, but after a long day teaching/grading/writing tests/making copies the last thing I want to do is blog.  Don't get me wrong, I LOVE blogging! And I would blog everyday if it didn't annoy everyone I know. But school started, and suddenly I was four weeks in and a month behind on this guy!  I am sorry for the lack of posts! More are coming!! I have several great ones planned, and I got a great camera for my birthday so that will really up the blogging game!!

Bryce Canyon // Saint George // Las Vegas

I have a new found love for Pioneer Day. There is no school, fireworks, and recently all my family has started coming into town for a family reunion! Its great! This Pioneer Day weekend was a busy one for Jordan and I. But it was so wonderful! First stop for the weekend was Bryce Canyon for a family reunion with my mothers side of the family! Bryce Canyon is one of the most beautiful places I have ever been! And heres a fun fact, the Thunder Mountain that inspired the Disneyland ride is in Bryce Canyon!

Next we went down to Saint George! We spent the few days we had there mostly playing Clash of Clans (seriously, we have a problem), eating, and going to Tuacahn plays! We saw both The Little Mermaid and Wizard of Oz. I absolutely LOVED Little Mermaid! Watching those mermaids glide all over the stage was amazing! Wizard of Oz was very good too! It was super cute and fun! 

Next stop: LAS VEGAS! We went down just for a day trip, we spent the day shopping and then went to Cirque Du Soleil's O! And oh my goodness! It was AMAZING! This is my 3rd Cirque show, but Jordan's first! It is so amazing to watch what they can do, every act is full of ooo's and aahhh's!

Then it was time to come back to Provo, and back to the grind of school and work. It was so nice to have a little break, especially because I won't get one in between summer semester and the next school year! 

I hope you Pioneer Day weekend was as good as ours!! 

A Summer Celebration of Song

This past weekend Jordan and I were lucky enough to be invited to go to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir summer concert with our good friends Cassie and Bri. For some reason, Cassie's grandma is the luckiest person on the planet and ALWAYS wins tickets their shows! And she gave Cassie the tickets this time! But we decided we would make a day of it!   The event started at Alamexo, which is a new Mexican restaurant up in Salt Lake. We had heard great things about it and were excited to go! It did not disappoint. The food was so delicious and fresh and the best part was the fresh guacamole they would make right in front of your table! Seriously, we want to go again right now just to get some more of that guacamole sent from heaven! 

Seriously the Guacamole tho... If anyone has this recipe, or has a great Guacamole recipe send it my way. Jordan and I are on the hunt for the perfect Guac.

I think we will be back soon. If only for the guac.

Then it was to the concert. When Cassie invited us, we were a little skeptical about how exciting it would be. But it was AMAZING! The guest singer was Hans from Frozen, and he killed it and somehow got MoTab to sing Happy by Pharrell. But I would say the highlights of the entire concert were when the MoTab sang Whistle While You Work from Snow White and all the men whistled while them women sang, and then the organist blowing our minds by playing WITH HIS FEET!!

The concert was amazing. Seriously, we take the MoTab for granted. They are AMAZING and sometimes I think we forget how blessed we are to get to hear them sing so often.

Wedding Recap: Engagements // A Happy Five Months!

Yesterday, July 13, marked 5 months that Jordan and I have been married! It has been the most amazing 5 months of my life! It has been months full of love and happiness. Honestly, I am my happiest when I am with Jordan. We complement each other so well, and have so much fun together! I  cannot wait for all the months to come!

But to celebrate I thought this would be a good time to kick off some Wedding Recaps, starting with our engagements! Our wedding photographer, Valory Jean, was amazing, and would recommend her to anyone! From the beginning things were so easy and natural with her and I absolutely LOVE how all of our photos turned out! She is amazing!

We took our engagements in November when it was like 10 degrees so the snow was perfectly frozen to the trees. It looked amazing! It is funny looking at these pictures and remembering how freezing we were while I am sitting in 100 degree weather.  

 We took the above photos in my parents' backyard, and the rest were taken on Center Street in Provo. Both perfect, but so freezing!!
